We needed a short and affordable getaway where we could relax, this is exactly what we got. The only thing I can think of is either Choctaw pays out to their customers less because of the ongoing expensive construction there, or they just figure the people will keep coming anyway so why not. There are so many more machines, we seemingly win as much as we lose, and the restaurants are much better. Well we started going to Winstar which is about 15 minutes further but well worth it. The penalty the state receives is a lesser amount than the required payout amount. Last year we noticed we lost about our last 5 or 6 times there and decided to start keeping track, thinking at some point we'd leave winners ( or at least even:) We lost 8 straight times (after the initial 5 or 6) and started making jokes that we were literally insane for going since the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result ) We learned that Choctaw casino does not meet requirements for necessary payout amounts to their customers and chooses to pay the state fines for that particular penalty. We will play dollar slots and usually call it quits after about 200.00. We enjoy going to a casino about twice a month and are certainly not high rollers. My wife and live in Pottsboro tx, a small town about 1/2 hour South of Choctaw casino resort.
